We all begin somewhere, often before we feel we are ready.
But at some point, we make the decision: we start, we choose to begin.
Heartwork strives to offer approachable and embodied classes for all levels of practitioners. This means that everybody and every body is invited into the space, knowing that each and every one of us has something to bring to the table.
What class should I take first?
We suggest starting with slower and more gentle classes, and working your way up. This is so that you can (literally and metaphorically) catch your footing in your practice.
Classes that are great for beginners: gentle, yin, relaxation, slow flow, beginners.
What do I need to bring to class?
Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle, as well as a mat if you have one. We offer mat rentals for $2/use at the studio. We also carry Manduka mats at the studio available for purchase.
What can I expect in class?
Depends on the class! Take a look at our class offerings to learn more about what we offer.
Generally, you can expect a slower start and a slow end to class. We end each class with a pose called “savasana” (a lying down meditation) to cultivate a sense of mindfulness to carry off of the mat and into the world.
