Class Descriptions

Weekly Classes At HeartWork Studio:

Working Man's Yoga: This class is made for the guy who says "I'm too inflexible to do yoga". It is tailor made for men who are just starting out or have a way to go to become more flexible. The teacher is a former body builder who found that yoga made him feel so much better.

Beginning Yoga: Learn basic poses (called asanas), breathing techniques, and beginning meditation. Increase your flexibility, decrease your perceived stress level and feel better in your body. This class moves slowly and includes lots of verbal instruction.

Fitness Stretch: A great class for those looking to increase their flexibility and balance out their body. Poses are held for a longer period of time to allow the muscles to release.  Finish with a great relaxation.

Hot Yoga: Practiced in a heated room, this sequence of 26 poses is always done in the same order and beginning students catch on easily. This practice uses heat to stretch more safely and aims to detoxify the body with sweating and poses that stimulate blood to glands and organs.
Please bring water bottle and towel to class.

Hot Vinyasa: A heated, climate controlled Vinyasa flow practice which heals, detoxifies and exhilarates the body and mind with emphasis on movement, balance and intention. This dynamic, challenging class combines strength,

sweat and spirituality.

Intermediate Vinyasa: This class is a challenging practice where participants flow from pose to pose. Participants should be very familiar with Sun Salutations A, B, and C and should know the standing poses well. Inversions may be practiced. We recommend participants have at least 9 months of active yoga practice before joining this class.

Introduction to Yoga: This four week class starts the first Saturday of every month. You will learn the basics of yoga including breathing, poses and a brief history. This is the perfect way to start or fill in your missing pieces.

Pre-registration required - 649-0898.

Kids Yoga: Geared towards kids from 6 - 10 years old. This class incorporates fun and movement allowing kids to move freely while learning life-long yoga skills.

Kundalini: This practice consists of breathwork, postures, movement, stretching and sound in a specific sequence for your body’s benefit. Modifications are given so everyone can participate.

Mixed Vinyasa: Accommodates different levels of people while providing a thoughtful and beneficial practice . Participants should be very familiar with Sun Salutations before participating in this class. Beginning Vinyasa classes are recommended as an intro to this class.

Power Tone: Move seamlessly from a body toning, mind calming vinyasa yoga practice into core specific exercises. We add hand weights to focus on specific body parts. Finish with relaxation.

Relaxation Yoga: This gentle, calm practice incorporates deep breathing with movements to decrease the stresses and induce peace. Enjoy the peaceful candle-lit setting and the long relaxation at the end.

Slow Flow: Move through Sun Salutations slowly and with intent. Hold poses for a longer period of time and improve your balance and strength. This class changes each time and provides focus on different areas of your body. It is recommended that you have taken beginning yoga before moving into this class.

Teen Yoga: This class offers teens the ability to practice with other teens while increasing their strength, flexibility and balance. Perfect for athletes and non-athletes alike.

Viniyoga: Emphasizes stability and fluidity. Since each person is different, it takes into consideration the individuals structure and condition, giving maximum benefits with minimum risks. It respects individual needs by appropriate application of postures, breath, meditation and relaxation.
